You’ve worked hard at this game of life. You’ve put all your effort into your family and your career, continually trying to juggle them both while maintaining some semblance of friendships and social life. Instead of feeling confident that you’ve “got this,” you’re second-guessing yourself and feeling ashamed for just wanting a break. You can’t even get a good night’s sleep because of the worry and racing thoughts that keep you up at night.
You told yourself you were going to do it differently than you saw your parents and others doing. As hard as you try, though, it’s just not going as you had planned. My clients just want to feel the sense of satisfaction that they were told existed if they just did it “right.” My clients followed that path only to discover that the end result isn’t how it was initially advertised.
Therapy may be for you if:
· You feel as if your best isn’t “good enough” or
you feel like you’re failing.
· You’re experiencing guilt and shame about your feelings.
· You are stretched thin and it’s impacting various areas of your life.
My goal is to help you work through the things holding you back from feeling confident, successful and satisfied with your life.
Therapy is not:
· Me telling you what to do or how to do it.
· Me telling you that your feelings are wrong.
· Me telling you that there’s an easy fix for a lifetime of feelings.
We’ll start with a 10-15 minute consultation call to get a sense of what your needs are and where I can help you. If you feel comfortable moving forward, then we’ll schedule your initial session where we will talk more in-depth about the situation at hand and some history so I understand the bigger picture of what led you to reach out today. After that, we'll meet on a regular basis to work through that which is bothering you.
I love helping clients who want to make that positive change in their lives, people who want to dig in, do the work and feel the sense of empowerment that comes with making positive change and implementing healthy boundaries. What we process in therapy is 100% confidential. You may feel vulnerable initially but the pace and direction are up to you. I’m not here to tell you what to do or how to do it. Rather, you’re driving the therapy bus and I’m in the passenger seat with a guide book and a map pointing out pot holes and forks in the road. My map is drawn up based on what you tell me you want to accomplish in therapy. Yes, I will challenge you but always in a supportive environment and in a way that helps you find the tools you need to be the person you want to be.
